Jacksonville Jumo Shrimp? Great name. I think this is a testament to the fact that people would rather spend money without breaking the bank on good quality minor league ballgames. MLB is so expensive these days what with the cost to park, eat and the tickets that minor league ball gives you more bang for your buck.

Spectra buys Trumbull on the Park. They are the guys who developed the old Sonesta Hotel into apartments on Constitution Plaza and are also developing The Pearl/Trumbull corner into apartments. The deal includes the parking lot in the center of the block with over 600 spaces. They plan to update the space.

The development of 101/111 Pearl is a great step forward. It turns a dead corner on Trumbull Street into 250 more apartments. It should also further the goal of developing a 24/7 environment downtown.

The city has formally fired Centerplan as the developer of the NoDo neighborhood development. I would hope this means there is another developer waiting to move in and take over. Hopefully this will include the Hard Rock Hotel that was previously proposed and there was still interest in developing after the Dunkin Donuts Park mess. Jay

And yet another commercial building downtown is being converted to housing. This one will be geared to teachers. Jay

Things seem to be moving along with the Coltsville National Park project. A location for the Visitors Center has been selected. The developer of the Colt Building is giving the US Parks Service two buildings on the campus for the center. Should be a nice addition to the city and the Colt campus. Jay

Wow, driving by that location I always mistakenly assumed that dome was a mosque of some kind.

LOL, I did too when I was a kid. My father though told us kids what the building really was. Interesting and important history for our country and the world. It definitely does need to be recognized for its past. Jay

I had seen this. I wonder if anyone would even bother replying since the mess with Centerplan is going to court. Who knows what that will bring or what delays it will cause. Still wonder if Hard Rock is still interested though. Several months back they said they still were but when it comes to actually putting your money where your mouth is, who knows? Jay
