The Hard Rock was a development proposed by Centerplan which is the same developer as the stadium. With all the litigation between the city and the developer, I doubt it will be moving forward in the foreseeable future. Jay

The owners of the Yardgoats Baseball team has apparently offered to loan the city the money needed to complete the stadium. I am not sure the city needs a loan to complete it. They certainly do not need more debt. Jay

Now the League is threatening to pull the Yardgoats out of Hartford if the stadium is not finished. Bronin better get moving on it or the city will have a beautiful but empty field on their hands. JAy

I knew this stadium would be a mess because its Hartford, but had no expectation that it would be this bad. To potentially end up with a brand new stadium and no team is beyond the pale. The city is dysfunctional. Bankruptcy is looking like a viable alternative for the rising star.

Audit: Downtown North costs exceed $102M | HartfordBusiness.com

Priced at $56 million, bonded at $63 million, total cost to date $73 million. Just for the stadium.

Add in the road work, engineering and OH, you're looking at $102 million with an estimated cost to complete of $125m.

Yep, awesome.

They should've known better. Almost all projects like these are somehow overbudget. The plans get revised all the time. I'm honestly surprised the Interstate 84 Waterbury Project isn't over budget at this point. Something always happens, especially if it's in New Haven and Hartford.
