Nws ny

the ecmwf for the last two runs has suggested teddy could make a
left hand turn into the east coast. Both runs show this happening in
maine which is a bit too close for comfort. The timing is early next
week. The gfs has not given any support to this soln yet, with the
ensembles and operational taking it into the north atlc nowhere
close to the coverage area.

Current Map.............explaining how it's all affecting CT ..

1. Upper Low over Pacific there will heading into Oregon and provide some rain to WA & OR and keep temps in check.

2. Jet stream lifting north into Western Canada providing warmth

3. Yup..... Those pink colors over Hudson Bay are near or below 0°F (-20C) at 9,000 level.. Brrrrr. Maybe the Bay will start freezing over early. This is helping push a cold airmass south into Southern Canada and Northeast where we are.

4. A Strong cold front is driving south, Which is why Sally wont affect us. Which is why this weekend should be coldest air of season. 30s/40s at night. Low 60s in day.

5. Sally....Was hoping for some rain from it but I'll take the chilly temps instead.

6. Teddy.... Hmmm, GFS started trending West with it. Euro hit Maine again. I don't think will be enough time to make the turn to hit us but eyes are open.

I've wondered what happens if a "Greek letter storm" gets retired? Do they just skip it over if we ever get to that letter again (i.e. if "Beta" happens and it gets retired this year, do we just go from Alpha to Gamma if we ever get there again?)

Great question 7 wishes. Looks like we might find out...

The models lost Teddy turning in - more good news.
