10,000' temps. Below freezing over our heads. Cold Airmass in place!
5000' temps. Not below freezing over CT but 30s is cold for this level during the day or at night.
Northwest flow aloft of course
Clear Skies and its in the 50s and 60s at the surface. Well below normal for this time of year
Balloon launch over Long Island this morning showed it was 0.2°C (32°F) at 850mb.
Normal is 51°. Top 12 coldest temp at this level for month of September.
Only 1 other time was colder before Sept 20th (1959)
So this is impressive airmass for us this time of year!
