That's subjective like JayCT said. New Haven is undeniable. Milford has the numbers and the some of the scratch indys are pretty good. I dont know Weha much but everyone knows the Max's. Great Italians are everywhere. Was hoping for some recs on smaller unknowns.
Best scratch dining IMO is Westport, Norwalk, don't overlook New Canaan I'm serious, and Fairfield because this is the region I reside in. I hear rumblings of a great new Ramen spot up in Southport I want to check out. They say it beats mecha. Greenwich too but I don't know enough of it.
You won't have the sitdown chains in these parts in great numbers but that's fine with me.
