Been a wild few days in southern CT. A pregnant woman was carjacked in North Haven by New Haven juveniles, who used the car to commit violent crimes in Milford, West Haven and Orange. A car in Orange was stolen with a dog in it - the car was later found abandoned in New Haven (miraculously the dog was located). Another violent attempted carjacking on the Post Road in Orange where the suspect carjacked the elderly man with a gun, and a separate incident in Orange where a man entered a car occupied by a mother and her two children while pumping gas, leading to a stolen car fiasco that stretched between Milford and Orange where the four juveniles ran, but were found by police. All this in a span of 12 hours.

Sickening. Our entire region, including once safe suburbs, is no longer safe IMO.

If I were elsewhere, considering a move to this area with family, these incidents would persuade me not to.

Progressives have made Southern Ct a safe area solely for violent juvenile thugs.

and it's only going to get proggier from here, in CT and the Northeast. Navy blue. There isn't anything anyone can do about it.
The only thing hotter than the Mets in Queens right now is the crime stats and like the Yankees the Bronx is burning. It's just a matter of time for CT.
Atleast the limo progs won't allow high rises in the prized affluent suburbs.

It’s shocking to see this stuff happening in a place where, not too far in the past, if this happened one time, citizens and politicians would be outraged. It seems now, people are just shrugging their shoulders.

If "progressives" are the cause of all crime in Connecticut, why is it, if you look at states with the highest crime rates, it's a mix of right-leaning and left-leaning states...

Florida has almost double the crime index of Connecticut.

Maybe it's more complex than "dern libruhls?"

If you want serious solutions to real problems, you have to look beyond silly political labels-- Crime results from a slew of problems that include generational poverty, race, educational opportunity, unemployment, housing, mental health and substance abuse AND criminal justice system inaction and complacency.

And which areas of Florida have the highest crime? Left leaning areas. One of the most conservative large cities in Florida, Miami (because Cubans are *very* Republican) has seen insane declines in crime the past 24 months, effectively bucking the trend of large liberal run cities nationwide.

Look, I don’t care what political party Malloy and Lamont belong to. What the former did absolutely decimated the safety and well being of suburban Connecticut, as was discussed previously, and that the latter and his political allies refuse to address it in a proper manner is the issue. They made it a party issue before any state resident did.

To deny that Democrats are traditionally light on crime is ludicrous.
