Considering juvenile crime recidivism rate is 77% for similar felonious behavior, I’d say their demanding the Democratic controlled government reinstate stricter penalties (or maybe we can start with not immediately releasing when violent felonies are committed).

Both have been demanded by state Republicans ad nauseam. The democrats have ignored this. And statistically, this shooting would likely have been prevented if that were the case.

I agree but I don’t think the Republicans are yet using this or other key issues like local rule over state mandates to fight the Democrats. Instead I’m hearing lame attacks on things like inflation (Lamont and Blumethal has little to no control over it, even a grade school child knows that) or (the latest) that Ann Lamont is involved in development in Tennessee (who cares?). I’m thinking they will turn up the heat as the election nears but who knows? Jay

You’re spot on that this is where Republicans need to strike. This (and several other things) are where Democrats are either weak or have completely failed the people. We’ll see what happens.

And today, a Naugatuck homeowner was struck intentionally after interfering with alleged juveniles trying to steal his car out of his driveway. The homeowner is in critical condition in the hospital.

Strike what? The only thing republicans are going to do in CT is strike out. Looking,
on the back door slider.
It’s over for them in CT. They know it. It’s just a matter of time before limousine progs completely take over and it’s not coming back. It’s time to let go.

Bingo. Simply utilizing strict penalties takes repeat offenders away from civilized, law-abiding society.

How does a 14 yr old get a gun? And what are the Republicans going to do about it? This case has nithing to do with recidivicism rates.

Maybe the republicans can get some pre cogs like in minority report. Then they can imprison these perps day after they're born.

Why are people risking their lives over generic cars? That must have been one speciql camry.

Can you imagine going to heaven and telling big G that you gave your life up for a camry?

A ferrari maybe, but a camry. Big G would probably send you to hell just for that alone.

You asked how Republicans’ proposals would have prevented this. I provided you with how. Stop moving goal posts.
