This is todays projected highs. Bridgeport has hit 79 F...Central Park 82F....and Bradley 77 F. It will be interesting to see if Bradley and Bridgeport can catch Central Park.

Nope, you live in New England. Pick Scorching, humid heat or 10 feet of snow

The 9 am obs might offer a clue to how high temps might get. Most NWS stations in the Tri-State area already into the 70's F. Bradley is already 74 F.

The current dew point temp map is looking like a more early June than late April dew point map; Current dew points over the Tri-State area from upper 50's to low 60's F. High dew points in the Gulf and Atlantic states and balanced by the dry one in the western deserts:

2pm temps. Now I'll need the AC at night.

We just can't have nice stretches of sun and 60s where I wont need the heat or AC.

Danbury just hit 81°.

Enjoy the day folks! Taste of Summer!

Looks like Bradley did not crack 80 F...they topped out at 78 F - same as Bridgeport. Clouds came in and out I think this is why some spots were warmer than others. Still a very nice early spring day.

Bridgeport - 78 F

New Haven - 80 F

Meriden - 81

Danbury - 82 F

White Plains - 82 F

....and Central Park passed everyone, they hit 87 F!

I left my car windows open about 1/4 way to avoid the heat building inside. Then, to paraphrase Paul McCartney, "the rain exploded with a mighty crash as it fell into my car."

Was really surprised that Central Park was the regional "winner" for highest temp as it's usually Newark (and sometimes Bradley!)

Philly actually got to 90, which tied their daily record (set in 1888 and 1974)

Avg Temp departures each week for April 2024 (minus a couple days)
Cold last week of the month! And the nighttime lows was the reason for the above normal temps rest of month. (clouds)

Don't let the maps fool you........

Only 5 days were well above normal. It was the nighttime lows why April will show as warm. (blue bars).
Dots are the normal temps for that day
