No doubt, Newark is the Death Valley of the Tri-State area - lol. They normally soar past coastal Connecticut/Long Island, and beat Bradley and CP. So I was a bit surprised that CP beat them. With the dew points and the temp, I would bet CP had a heat index of near 90 F yesterday.

Yesterdays high temp roundup (Newark and CP are covered by White Plains or some other station it looks like):

A look ahead based on NWS forecasts:

Looks like after showers/thundershowers move through tonight, pretty uneventful weather in the short term. Lows in the middle 40's F northern CT, upper 40's/low 50's F southern CT, and highs a bit above normal in the upper 60's to low 70's F Wed through Friday with partly sunny skies. Closer to the weekend we may cool slightly to below normal with lower 60's F :

In the longer terms...latest from the CPC:

Yesterdays high temperature at BDR was 9 below normal!

So much for the nice stretch of warmth. Spring is so frustrating

So they did get to 31 on the 23rd (I thought it was 33 but I guess I'm wrong). That affected the whole "earliest last freeze" thing you talked about right?

Bradley fell to 31 F on the 23rd...

Bridgeport lowest of the month was 36 F on the 26th...

Central Park lowest of the month was 37 F on the 4th...

One other climatic note:

NWS Bridgeport had it's 9th driest April in 30 years (1994 - 2024). I know the clouds in the early part of the month and off/on throughout the month, made it seem like there was frequent showers, but often it never rained. However, was shocked that it was that dry compared to past April's.:

Top 10 driest April's from 1994 - 2024:

Looks like showers from earlier this morning have fizzled out most stations are now reporting sunny skies. A warm front lifts through tonight, then a weak cold front Thursday, before high pressure once again builds in. Temps in the 60's and 70's F across the area:

3 PM obs across the Tri-State area:
