[quote=bler144;40211778]While the Donald is polling in the top 5 or so, that obscures two problematic facts for him (assuming one thinks his campaign is serious to begin with):
Sorry, the Donald is at the bottom of the most recent polls. The very bottom of the list. Just an FYI!
Wow you denying that Texas was ever a part of Mexico and that those settlers, encouraged by the Mexican government, were Americans. Of course I know you really don't have a problem with illegal immigrants. Most republicans don't. There is a very easy way to discourage illegal immigrants and protect American job. Fine the hell out of any employer that hires illegal immigrants and offer a reward to anyone who provides a tip that leads to such a violation. They will not stay here if they can not find work and their family will demand they leave once they become a burden. It can be done. It can easily be done in a way that lowers the deficit, reduces native born unemployment, and raises the wages of American citizens.
The trouble is, none of our professional politicians -- Democrat or Republican -- will do it.
But Trump might.

...I garuntee that if Republicans put forward a single bill that got tough on employers of illegal immigrants democrats would be terrified and forced to deal with it.
In 2006, House Republicans passed a bill making illegal immigration -- and hiring or harboring illegals -- a felony.
The result was those May 1 Mexican flag demonstrations and "a day without immigrants."
The Democrats voted against the bill.
When the Democrats, who at the time controlled the Senate, debated and passed the latest immigration bill, they wouldn't allow Republicans to put in amendments to toughen the law.
Yes, the Republicans are bad on this issue....but the Democrats have been much worse.
If it's true that Latino citizens and legal immigrants support illegal immigration in violation our nation's laws -- if it's true that they place their ethnicity ahead of their loyalty to this nation and its laws -- then that is all the more reason to keep additional Latinos out of this country.
Time to think about a potential running mate for Trump.
I think Rand Paul might be a good pick.
