ridiculous! if your a trans be a trans its your life, but not everyone agrees with that lifestyle. I'm so tired of this world coming up with these new laws and regulations and trying to force everyone to be ok with it..I respect you and you respect me simple as that just don't force your lifestyle on me....

^^^ The America you grew up in? Would that be the one where you could hang black folks and beat up or kill gays and trans people and nobody would say anything. Would that be the America where women stayed at home and wore dresses and anybody who wasn't a white, straight man was a second class citizen and treated as such?

I'm just wondering how some of you people here are going to fare when some trans person reads some of the garbage posted here and kills themselves thanks to the cyber bullying that goes on on a daily basis here. Some of you should be ashamed of yourselves.

A person is reading a forum with many opinions and reads something they think isn't nice that is not even directed at them personally and they kill themselves over that? That is a severely depressed mentally ill individual. Can we have a judge seize their lipstick, high heels, and dresses because they are posing a danger?

Then you would be taken to court and sued having all your money taken away from you. Look what happened to the bakers. They had their bank accounts drained.

Again, another classic response brought to you by the liberal point of view. American traditions, morals, values, culture, etc. of the recent past, has nothing to do with the rubbish you posted. It's as if liberals/progressives think that all of the aforementioned must be torn down because it was a root cause of the few black marks in our history.

Additionally, we have classic deflection of responsibility, and projection of negative actions upon others. If a tranny or anyone else kills themselves, that says a lot more about the mental issues that person has, rather than looking to blame others.
I highly doubt any of the sane posters here on CD that oppose special PC laws, wants people to commit suicide.
Yet you start trying to opine that any disagreement with them is cyberbullying which would be responsible for their own choices.
It reminds me of the friggin liberals saying "what are we doing to have caused 9/11, and what must we change".
Some wanted to blame Clinton, others Bush, and still others our way of life. NEWS FLASH - 9/11 was perpetrated by Islamic terrorist fanatics, and they are the ones responsible, not us. PERIOD!

So while I and others do not wish anyone to be so weak in spirit too off themselves over words written by strangers on a forum, we will not bear even the slightest responsibility for any poor choices they choose to make. PERIOD!

I thought this whole issue was about the right to wear dresses (the right for men to wear dresses, I mean).

Before I retired, I often had positions that required me to interview and hire. Before that, I was the administrative assistant in the HR department of a company of about 150 employees, and I had to complete monthly reports that stated how many male and female, "white" and "non-white" employees were on the payroll, and how many had been hired by or had terminated with the company in that month. (I don't remember now whether that was for federal or state records, or both.) In any case, if the policing of "sexuality discrimination/harassment" escalates, I am wondering if the kind of record-keeping I described will begin including boxes for "heterosexual" and "other than heterosexual", and if so, how will that be monitored?

I also would like to say that if the LGBTQ community persist in making what many people consider to be outrageous demands (for example, an apparent male, meaning one is who is dressed as a male with all male genitalia intact, insisting that he is really a woman and demanding that "she" be allowed to use the women's locker room), I expect that many more employers will refuse to hire anyone who they suspect of not being heterosexual. I have already seen comments like this in this thread, with some posters writing that they would not hire anyone who they perceive as not being "straight".

Yes, discrimination as far as race, sexuality, etc. IS illegal, but believe me (and others have said this, too) -- there are plenty of ways to discriminate and to get away with doing so. Although it is usually difficult to hide one's race or sex (i.e., biologically male or female), it is fairly easy to hide one's sexual preference; however, if a lesbian, for example, comes to an interview dressed in a "mannish" way and talks openly about her female partner, many employers might very well find an excuse not to hire her unless some kind of federal or state quota for hiring LGBTQs is mandated, but (to repeat my earlier question) how would this be done unless people are required to state either "heterosexual" or "other"? I am not sure that everyone would be willing to do this.

Why would anyone do that?

And who cares if someone comes dressed in a mannish way and talks about their female partner? If they're the right person for the job, who cares? Not hiring someone because they're gay, if they're the best person for the job, is just cutting off your nose to spite your face.

It's not an outrageous demand to ask to not be discriminated against because of an innate characteristic. It was okay in 1950 to not hire women, or people with a disability, or some other "perceived" problem that has nothing to do with job capability. It's not okay now and quite rightly so. Although if you're an arse, as whocares says there's plenty of ways around hiring anyone you have a bias against.

Honestly, people get over other people's initial strangeness pretty quickly. I don't know why it's such a hardship for someone to call a person obviously living as a woman, she or her. Calling them a he on a daily basis, especially if you're the only one, is going to get a bit wearing after a while. So best of luck with that to whomever wants to act like a dick regularly.
