This explains why they escorted her off the plane:

United spokesman Robert Einhorn told The Post in a statement: “United flight attendants care about the safety and well-being of all of our customers which is why they acted quickly to find a different seat for the disruptive customer. When it became clear that this passenger’s behavior was likely to be problematic on this flight, she was provided alternate travel arrangements first thing the next morning.”

The fact is that per United, she was "provided alternate travel arrangements the very next morning."

That accommodation would be because they knew they had no business squeezing her between two obese individuals who chose not to sit together because they couldn't.

Until United--and other carriers--address this issue, they will have to continue to do what they did here: placate entitled, obese passengers who want to play the victim, and provide alternate trips, at their expense, for those passengers unfortunate enough to get stuck with one--or two--obese individuals encroaching on their space for hours-long flights.
You are the one that keeps making erroneous statements.

She was re-seated. She continued acting like a jerk. That's when they "provided alternate travel arrangements the very next morning." She could have continued on that flight, in the new seat they gave her. But she couldn't keep her fat mouth shut. So they booted her. What don't you understand?

You can keep making stuff up and repeating it. It doesn't make it true.

You specifically said that she never used any profanity at all.

When it's pointed out that you are WRONG, all of a sudden your stance on scurrilous, scandalous (For Shame!) profanity changes. Now all of a sudden, as long as you say it under your breath, it's fine. And in this case, it's justified because the fat lady was rude in calling her a *****.

To you, the fat lady was wrong to lose her temper at this moron going out of her way to loudly and publicly humiliate her, but somehow, all of Sally Salads' bad behaviour and profanity is justified.

Lots of disingenuous hypocrisy on this forum. As per usual.
LOL. I don't "clutch pearls". Clearly I did not mention it because I never heard it - it was not selective, silly - it was simply under her breath, and she was not aiming that at either of the passengers. There was NO missing the nurse's foulness, clearly directed at the blonde. If you really think the blonde lady was any more classless than the obese nurse, well, you are certainly entitled to your opinion.

There were only two obese people in that row that took up more than their own seats. The blonde lady, whether or not she was carrying 20 extra pounds, clearly fit in her seat, easily.

It's fun that you get some freaky delight over your cute phrases, snickering and funny names, but it makes your posts nothing more than, well, a silly rant.

Pass the popcorn will ya?

What is so hard to understand about this? Of course nobody wants to sit between 2 obese people who are taking up more than their fair share of space. The reasonable way to deal with this situation is to tell a flight attendant you want a seat change. There is no need to go out of your way to loudly and publicly humiliate people. If you think this is a reasonable way to handle this situation, then you also have no class.

Snickering and funny names? Yup, this thread is full of gleeful name calling...fatty, pigs, animals, creatures, libtaaards, etc. etc. It's good to be not PC, right?

FYI, nobody likes seat reclining passengers on airplanes. So far, people have just been too polite to say anything to you. Let's see how you react when some moron calls her her "babe" on the cell phone to have a loud theatrical conversation about how you are annoying her, because you are reclining into her space, and now she has to have the back of your greasy/frizzy/smelly/ugly head in her face for the rest of the flight.

You know what? That is exactly how one male passenger handled this problem (topic of another thread about being seated next to a large woman on a flight). He quietly approached a flight attendant to ask to be re-seated. And he was raked over the coals and publicly called out in social media and called a horrible person. The offended passenger even admitted he was quiet about it and non-confrontational. She only knew he didn't like sitting with her because she snooped and read texts on his cell phone.

Coming soon:

"In an effort to be more sensitive to the requirements of calorically and girth challenged passengers will soon be updating our fleet to provide double wide seating options"
"Additionally, in fairness to passengers of all sizes we will now charge seating by the pound".

Maybe the answer is to ban morbidly obese people from flights. Who knows, maybe some of them will take it to heart and lose weight to at least obese levels so they can fly.

It's not that simple. It's probably for the same reason that huge guys who wear Big and Tall / 60W x 32L slacks or 54W x 34L pay the same as slim / short guys.

The market will not stand for discrimination, real or perceived.

Personally, I think all airlines should increase leg room and seat width, even if it costs everyone more. In fact, it should cost more. Coach airline ticket prices are way too low.

It wouldn't totally solve the problem, but everyone needs more elbow room. The average adult is larger now than when I started flying as a teenager, seats were larger, and coach tickets were significantly more expensive then.

How is it discriminatory?
