You don't have to have good grades to get into business school, not even Harvard. If you have great connections, that's more important than having good grades.

I don't think that being well-spoken is the same as being a kool-aid dispenser. I like that Obama is well-spoken. Being well-spoken makes one appear intelligent when standing next to other world leaders. It makes the US appear well-represented. This is something we hadn't seen for 8 years.

As for kool-aid... just turn on FOX 'news.'

So the best President would be someone who's well spoken, can read their lines from the heart , telegenic, and has a great stage presence? Basically an actor? Well, I guess history proved you right on that point...

Nobody else seems to care that this thread has nothing to do with Dallas, so I'll jump back in.

I care as much about his as I do about Perry's...which is to say, not much at all. I went to an extremely large, very competitive university and I saw lots of very smart kids crash and burn, or pull nothing but Cs and Ds for lots of reasons. I'm not ready to say Perry's an idiot because of his transcript. I don't know the whole story. I AM ready to say he's a lunatic because of his record, but that's another story.

What rubs to many the wrong way about Obama not releasing his grades it that he promised to have the most transparent administration ever. In reality he's sandbagged all sorts of personal stuff. Not to mention anything political.

George Bush has an MBA from Harvard - 1/3 of the population thinks he is an idiot.
I don't think he's an idiot per se, but I don't think he's brilliant either. And UT's law school turned him down before he went to Harvard, and I'm sure his political connections didn't hurt.

No, the best president would be someone who is intelligent, well-spoken, is not 'bought' by corporate interests, and has other positive traits. Well-spoken is just one of many characteristics that a president should have.

Although until we have a law that prohibits corporate contributions to campaigns and lobbying, it will be impossible to find anyone who is not influenced by corporate money.
