If a candidate was running for President and we DIDN'T know his / her faith, we'd be asking and finding out. It DOES matter. Simple as that.
They should be honest and unashamed about their faith without using it to garner votes. And the voters should consider carefully the policies espoused, to judge their consistency with biblical values of justice and mercy.
