Oh I see..
This is taken straight from the different era; namely - from the WWI.
That's when the Russian soldiers were often sent in the battle without any ammunition, empty-handed, with an order "to get a rifle from the enemies."
But this didn't take place during "horrid Soviet times" - oh no,- but during "free and democratic Tzarist times."
And this might explain (at least partially,) why Russian soldiers were leaving "Western front" in droves, willing to join the Soviet Socialist Revolution, even if they've got their rifles after all, and were successful during that "Brusilov offensive."
So correct fact, wrong year.
May be that's why I catch myself on using the word "concoction" more and more often, when it comes to American propaganda.
On another hand, when I am watching Russian news ( 60 minutes including,) when they discuss, say, the current situation in Texas, they never emphasize the fact that such anomaly as this weather happens only once in a great while in Texas. ( Some kind soul mentioned it, probably in a very spontaneous, unplanned way.)
But other than that.. - ...
I guess Putin and Co have good teachers by now in this respect, because Soviet propaganda was way too primitive, way too crude.
The real thing takes more finesse and more *heart-warming,* virtue-signalling kind of a bottom line.
Oh yeah. I've caught both sides doing it. Omission of context or necessary facts to downright distortion. Had I better skills in Russian language and more time I would undoubtedly find more from Russia.
Navalny ( because of whom ( or rather because of his recent arrest,)) the new sanctions have been imposed on Russia, has been stripped of the "prisoner of conscience" status by the Amnesty International.
It happened for the following reasons;
"Amnesty International took an internal decision to stop referring to ... Navalny as a prisoner of conscience in relation to comments he made in the past," the group said in a statement sent to Reuters on Wednesday."Some of these comments, which Navalny has not publicly denounced, reach the threshold of advocacy of hatred, and this is at odds with Amnesty's definition of a prisoner of conscience," it added.Amnesty, which had named Navalny a "prisoner of conscience" on Jan. 17 after his arrest, did not specify which comments it was referring to and said it was not aware of similar pronouncements made by him in recent years.'
Although the "democratic community" wouldn't want to disclose what *comments* exactly Navalny made that are incriminated to him now, but to make the long story short, according to Russian "60 minutes," he "made a tost" ( that short speech that Russians make when they drink for something) so he made a tost for Holocaust and never denounced it among other things.
I already mentioned before why he was kicked out from the "Yabloko" party, but here is more;
"In a 2007 video, he called for the deportation of migrants to prevent the rise of far-right violence. "We have a right to be (ethnic) Russians in Russia. And we'll defend that right," he said in the video."
This does not sit very well with politically-correct agenda of the "democratic left," that keeps on touting the sanctions on Russia, "release of Mr. Navalny from jail" including, now does it?
Sanctions on Russia are bi-partisan. As much as Russians hope to make it a political issue in the USA, it isn't.
In this particular case with Navalny I was referring to all "democratic left," Europe including, since he is getting wide support in EU establishment as well.
The whole anti-Russian team is not happy that Navalny was deprived of the "prison of conscience" status.

The "sacred victim" got a blemish on him.
Makes no sense. There is no EU establishment. The EU countries change their politicians and political parties regularly. If you're referring to democrats as in democracies, then yes. Democracy itself is anti-Russian and thus Ukraine is an anti-Russian project in that sense.

Also makes no sense. We aren't sacrificing anything. We get all we need from Russia, which is certain raw materials. They still buy our passenger jets. Less because they are getting poorer. Everything is normal.
