That's why Navalny's group is postponing the future protests till summer apparently.
Police is warm.
Protesters are cold.
They are forced to change the agenda. The story of Navalny is a story for foreigners. It doesn't work for Russians.
1. Novichok. Russians are too proud to believe that FSB cannot poison a person on the territory of their country with a chemical warfare agent. It is nonsense.
2. Walking Navalny in the center of Berlin under protection of special services of Germany. It's a pretty picture for the Western media, but how should Russians feel about it?
3. Today Navalny insulted a WWII veteran in court. This is unacceptable for 99% of Russians. You can be of any political opinion, but insulting a 90-year-old World War II veteran is sheer stupidity.
Navalny has support of stupid teenagers. But to win a war or revolution, he must have a support of men 25-45 years old under a command of 45-65 years old. Navalny has no chance, I think the opposition will come up with a new leader by summer.
I'd say as long as it takes to expose the REAL evil - the Democratic Party of the United States of America in its current shape and form.
Seeing as how Dems feel about Russia I'm sure your online troops are gearing up for a battle with them. But Trump was probably harder on Russia than Biden will be, overall. I guess we'll see soon enough.

Have no idea what my "online troops" you are talking about, but this is the major difference between Trump's hostile actions towards Russia, and that of the Democrats.
While Russians are well-aware of the fact that Trump's presidency at the end didn't bring anything good to Russia ( in spite of all the false information, if not downright lies, disseminated by Democrats over and over again,) I think Trump is still liked by Russians overall as a charismatic person, a person who at least was willing to mend the rift.
He was the ER doctor who treated Navalny and found that his medical crisis was due to falling into diabetic coma after ingesting alcohol and combination of prescription medications.
I doubt there was foul play. It does make sense to try to put the scare into the Kremlin by killing off someone near a situation, like the Ukrainians did with the Putin 'opponent' in close proximity to the Kremlin or the RT executive in Washington DC where the media couldn't get straight whether he was an ally or an opponent.
Intimidation and innuendo is what we're left with when they've reached the limits of military adventurism. Having Ukraine as a buffer is probably good considering the continuous bluster coming from Washington. It reduces the threat of another Operation Barbarossa or a first-strike nuclear attack. Distance between the two powers is the best thing for now.

Trump did five things against Russian interests Obama was afraid to do:
1) Bomb Assad's forces when they "crossed a line".
2) Give Ukraine lethal arms and combat training.
3) Move military to Poland
4) Forced delay of Nordstream 2
5) Welcomed Macedonia into NATO
You could argue how big of a deal they were, but they weren't received well in Moscow that is for sure.
The only things I can think of he did in Russia's interest:
1) Talked about Russian relations as if they were more important
2) Actively worked against NATO overall and pulled some troops from Europe and Syria.
And you're ignoring what Republicans other than Trump have said about Russia and its not exactly a love song.

I would hardly label Trump a Republican. He was a registered Democrat for a long time. He basically latched on to the Repulican platform because he saw that as his best ticket towards a presidency. A lot of hardcore Republicans were against socialism during the Cold War, but it appears that they've become somewhat less hostile towards Russia during the past decade, with some exceptions.
Trump was advised to pivot to Russia according to his foreign policy advisor Henry Kissinger. The US views China as a much more dangerous threat because it has economic clout that rivals or surpasses the US and has military capabilities that will be comparable to the US in two decades' time. The divide-and-conquer strategy has become too transparent to all with the bellicose rhetoric out of Washington. It's not clear what will be accomplished by this, maybe they want to force China and Russia to spend too much on military. They lack the sophistication to realize that this has been seen before, and China and Russia don't have to overextend themselves projecting an empire.
He did not bring Russia any gifts. The 'great' offer on Ukraine was to hold referendums in Ukraine to annex E. Ukraine and Crimea. Trump also offered to occupy a third of Syria, including most of its oil fields and farmlands, while providing a training ground for jihadist mercenaries for campaigns in Russian and Chinese republics.
I don't think he did anything the previous administration wasn't going to do. He was a little more overt on Israel, but it was already well known that the Israelis and the emirates were allies in wars, terrorism, and in many areas.
Russia, China, and Iran all realize that diplomatic treaties with the US are subject to be violated at its convenience.
A lot of the internal criticism of Trump is aimed at motivating him to take action in response. He's extremely vulnerable to being manipulated and didn't bring in any experienced advisors to shield him from adversaries.
