Navalny had outlived his usefulness as had Nemtsov. He's worth more as a Novichok martyr to the cause now apparently..
This was either a diabetic condition getting out of control or totally staged to begin with. The Skirpals were drug addicts on a bad trip when someone saw a opportunity to make some great propaganda, this is just the continuation of the effort.
