How's the Nord Stream 2 coming along? We are almost the the last quarter of the year and the end of good weather in the Baltic... nothing?
I heard Frau Merkel isn't too happy with Russia's non-interest in the investigation of using chemical weapons against Putin's political opponents. Perhaps Germany is better served buying additional gas from customers who don't act like this. Russian government media is cooking up ways to blame the USA when Germany pulls the plug. Slaves to the USA! How dare they stand against chemical weapons use to eliminate threats to autocracy! Popcorn is ready...

Have no idea to be honest - I didn't check on it, but Eastern Ukrainians said an interesting thing yesterday.
They basically pointed that the ultimate beneficiary of this whole "novichok" situation ( and Navalny) is actually the US, since Putin had no interest in poisoning Navalny, who had like.. 4% political popularity in Russia.
Particularly if to keep in mind that Navalny was shipped to Germany after personal Putin's order.
(Otherwise Navalny couldn't leave the country, dead or alive, since he was under the court order to remain in the country because of some civil case investigation that was pending.)
So yes, the whole Navalny case needs to be looked at closely.
I am still convinced that he was poisoned, but by WHOM exactly - that remains a big question.
I wasn't asking you but the Russians here who claimed it would start by now... This is Germany's Skirpal moment, where like the Dutch with MH 17, they learn that Russia won't help an investigation when they are the guilty party.
Mighty Putin, causing Russia's largest customer to consider cancelling this gas deal. What a proud achievement for the glory of Russia's future.
"Following a recent spike in airborne confrontations between the U.S. and Russian militaries, three B-52 Stratofortress bombers joined Ukrainian fighter jets for training Friday, and were also spotted skirting the Crimean peninsula, in a move one observer called an "in-your-face statement" to Russia."
"Flight path maps show the elite warplanes entering Ukrainian airspace and flying towards Crimea, where they circled in a racetrack-like formation.
The planes then moved towards Russian separatist-controlled areas and headed, at their furthest point, to the city of Melitopol, which is around 100 miles from separatist regions.
It is thought that several Ukrainian Su-27 Flankers joined the bombers when they entered the country's airspace."
"As we reported before, today, September 4, US Air Force Boeing B-52 military aircraft entered Ukrainian airspace for the first time.
The department noted that American strategic bombers are escorting fighters from the tactical aviation brigades of the Air Force of the Armed Forces of the Armed Forces of the Su-27 and MiG-29."

I am not convinced who is the guilty party in case with Navalny.
In case of MH-17 - it's Ukrainian government in my book.
You unleash civil war in your country, you start bombing your own people from the air - you need to close the airspace, period.
Because you are responsible for the safety of other nationals, and desire to get any kind of loans shouldn't overshadow it under no circumstances.
You found the right video. My wholehearted congratulations! Those be Su-27's, probably the first time they have flown with B-52s. Once again, Putin making friends out of former enemies. Everything is normal since Ukraine is after a NATO EOP nation. So they flew around Russian occupied Crimea... nobody's problem.

I was not looking too hard.
I just listened to Ukrainian news, then googled "B-52" over Ukraine" to confirm it - and there they were, those videos - the whole bunch of them.
As for Nordstream 2, I think Russia needs to pack it up and head home. So much as a peep from Germany shut down Nordstream 1.
If you want to do business act like it.
