I'll tell you what sparked the tension. Ukraine shut down Russian propaganda TV networks and sanctioned their agents/owners. Up until then, the Kremlin thought it had a good chance at pushing it's interests into the mainstream opposition in Ukraine (and wait for elections to bring some "pro Russians" into power, like Moldova and Georgia did in the past). That is all out the window now. The levers of pressure are gone with trade having been replaced, and the population under 50 don't seem to be interested in what Russia is even talking about. The only thing left is to attack Ukraine across the front line and goad it into responding with enough force for Russia to have some justification to forcefully intervene to save its own creation in Donetsk.

That's it. And its totally backfiring to put pressure on eastern Ukrainians like this. 100% this won't have the Georgian outcome Putin is hoping for.

I thought that the tension caused the transfer of Ukrainian troops to the eastern borders, where young boys and girls(!) go to war with jokes. But it's all about closing a TV channels. Isn't it funny for you to write this heresy?

Nah, European gas companies are all conspiring to make Russia look bad and all the data is faked to keep Ukraine out of Russia's ever loving embrace.

DKM, don't try any longer; we already know the drill - propaganda and propaganda only coming from you.
If any of this propaganda lies are exposed, it's immediately christened as "hand of Kremlin," "Putin" et al.

Yes, it's very easy to "verify stats" what Ukraine paid for gas comparably to other *European countries,* what was the end price for consumer and so on.

But that's not the "stats" YOU are juggling with.

So try to tell Ukrainians that they are "paying less than in 2014," but be careful to not to be shot on a spot.

Oh phleease...
Not a word in this article about Ukrainian troops being moved to LDNR border, out in a broad daylight, in violation of all cease fire agreements?

No escalation of violence from their side, shooting civilians and so on?

No mentioning of their rhetorics of "taking Crimea back?" No mentioning of their sabotage, an attempts to blow up the power lines in the area earlier?

They can't even call NATO as it is, carefully dancing with "North Atlantic Treaty Organization" instead.

Because KFC sounds much healthier than "Kentucky Fried Chicken," isn't it?

But I can tell you one thing that they probably got right in that article.
Zelensky is growing more and more desperate, and for him concentrating attention on Crimea yet again, on the strategic piece of land that America had in mind and lost *unexpectedly,* is a latest idea, a reminder to make Ukraine more "desirable" for NATO yet again from strategic point of view.

Other than that - yep, yet another (crudely) concocted piece of the Western propaganda machine.

The reverse flow is Russian gas being piped in from other EU countries. Ukraine is stockpiling the gas in preparation for cutting off gas transit from Russia to Europe next year. Gazprom has come to them to book more capacity recently.

Oh, oh, oh... Bloomberg wrings his hands and rolls his eyes..

Now, Russia is exacerbating the wound by massing troops near its neighbor’s contested eastern regions, raising concerns that the two sides could be dragged into a heightened military confrontation.
No one should care where and how Russia places its troops on its territory. It maybe on the border with Ukraine.. It maybe located on the border with Poland and the Baltic States.. This is the sovereign right of a sovereign State..

Russia’s five-day war with Georgia, another former Soviet republic that turned its gaze to the West, began in a similar fashion in 2008.
Goebbels gives a standing ovation.
“A lie, once said, remains a lie. A lie repeated a thousand times becomes true "

Georgia started a war, attacked Russian peacekeepers, and got to ass kicked for it. Georgia believed the promises of America, "you just start, and we will support" and started the war... And when Georgia quickly got in the face, America immediately disappeared into the bushes.. Like I'm not involved, I was just passing by.. Conclusion: in any case, you can not take America's word for it..

What became scary? That they have to answer for his actions? That's right, let them be afraid!

More nonsense.

Putin moved troops to Ukrainian border in response to Ukrainian troops buildup on LDNR border and them escalating violence. ( Why not a single Western media outlet is talking about Ukrainian movement of troops to LDNR in violation of any peace agreements? I mean you can skew the facts somewhat but not THAT much.)

After the "killer comments" Putin simply called off the Russian ambassador from US "for consultations."
From what I know, he still didn't return to Wash. D.C.

So enough of disinformation flying around already.
