If nothing drastically changed in the last 20 years, then Gothic architecture was never associated with "Catholic churches" in Russia.
It was rather associated with fairy-tails I think, the castles, princes, and the... witches?
I dunno.
There was this very cool fairy tail "The Snow Queen" of Hans Christian Andersen I remember, and I can picture something Gothic there)))
