As usual you are changing history. The actual story is over 100k Germans were left and were forcibly removed a few years after the war. Then 400k Russians were moved in. In the 50s (not 1990) it was offered to Lithuania (much like Crimea to Ukraine) but Lithuania did not want half a million Russians added to their country (smart move looking back at it now). It's not Russian land in any historical sense. It probably won't stay Russian.

I know more about the fighting than what happened after 1945. There were not a lot of people left in the area most having fled west.

Your view has merit as the Soviets needed that land in production. If there were not enough people left then they had to bring more in. Mixing them with the German locals would have been a bad thing then. There was doubtless other reasons too. Rubbing salt in wounds.

I don't know what the future holds for the enclave but regardless of the flag the people will be there.

Russia has become mortally dangerous to the rest of the world!

Quote:
A gas explosion has sparked a fire at a Russian laboratory complex stockpiling viruses ranging from smallpox to Ebola, authorities have said.
The State Research Centre of Virology and Biotechnology denied that the fire had exposed the public to the pathogens stored inside, some of the deadliest on Earth.
The blast took place during repairs to a fifth-floor sanitary inspection room at the facility – known as Vector – in Koltsovo, in the Novosibirsk region of Siberia, the centre said on Monday. The site housed secret biological weapons research during the Soviet era and is now one of Russia’s main disease research centres.
One worker suffered third-degree burns after the blast, which blew out the glass in the building. The fire reportedly spread through the building’s ventilation system. A fire covering 30 square metres was later extinguished.
Russian authorities insisted that the room where the explosion occurred was not holding any biohazardous substances and that no structural damage was caused. The mayor of Koltsovo said that the laboratory did not contain any disease samples because of ongoing repair work.

The likely hood of Kaliningrad (Eat Prussia) going back to Germany is about the same as Germany getting Pomerania and Salacia back from Poland. Maybe at some future date Kaliningrad will become an independent country, but I doubt it will be absorbed by Germany, considering they are still having a hard time integrating East Germany with West Germany.

Also not all of East Prussia went to Russia, parts of it were given to Poland and Lithuania.

I never said Kaliningrad would go back to Germany. But since you brought it up, it would likely become Lithuanian in the event of Russia losing control of the territory.

Don't think about borderlines changes. It's dangerously!

Lithuania or Poland. What about the 2 becoming a unified state like the PLC? Then absorb the enclave and come up with a final solution to the Russian question.
