I can't recall such a visual barrage in previous decades, especially the yoga pants aka leggings trend. It seems less and less is left to the imagination on the streets, combined with more narcissism.
Is this noticeable to most men, or am I just getting older and finding younger women less accessible, hence getting distracted in a different way? I'm 50+, for reference.
I have asked myself the same question. Maybe we are just getting older and have more to cover.
Seriously though I was never fun of showing too much skin but I grew up when people were wearing Daisy Dukes and those ugly 80's tight cycling shorts I remember a middle school teacher making a big deal because a friend of mine wore them to school but we thought it was normal. I just never wore them because I thought they were very ugly. They are not that different from yoga pants.
People care when woman show care but not men.
They can show their nipples if they like.
Yeah, my neighbor's outside right now mowing the lawn with his shirt off. Is he "flaunting his wares" or just being comfortable outside on a hot day? Should I be out publicly shaming him and making assumptions about how much he wants attention?
Form-fitting pants became a trend a number years ago, not something super new at all. Your considering wearing them to be "flaunting one's wares" is a personal interpretation. People are not necessarily narcissistic if they choose to wear something other than baggy attire.

Once women have been objectified to the point where a guy simply sees a sexual object, the particulars don't really matter. I hope you're not equating harassment with attractiveness with the whole- women -should- be- flattered -by- men's -attention- argument.

My old guy neighbors are all standing outside with their shirts missing. They stand around with their manly nipples out, chatting about who-knows-what. I wonder what would happen if I went out there with no shirt on? I just want to be neighborly and fit in. "Hey, fellas! Let's all show our wares. I see you guys already started."
I'm actually kind of stunned by the relative modesty my daughter and her friends have adopted in their dress.
