I'm the OP. I don't sweat a lot in normal circumstances. I still don't like to wait until my bras are dirty before I wash them, just as I don't wait until I'm smelly to take a shower.
Huh? What is the point of washing something that is clean?
I noticed the flow chart in the article applied the "sniff test" to determine if a bra needed washing, and suggested wearing it again if it didn't smell bad. That's generally the criteria I use for a bra I have worn a few days. They suggest NOT washing bras routinely after one use. Unless, of course, the wearer fell frontfirst flat into a mud puddle.
In my laundromat days of long ago I hated washing clothes there so much I only did it once a month. So I invested in 31 pairs of underpants so I would have enough clean pants to last that long. I can't even remember how many bras I had, but it was less than 31.
I can't imagine how long I would have to wear a bra before it started smelling. That is not my criteria. I know when my bras need washing. Now, I never exercise in my regular bras, so maybe that's where some people are getting the dirty/smelly from. I always change into a sports bra - heck I carry probably 3 to 5 days of workout outfits in a bag in my car (I work out every day at lunch, and after work) so I shower twice a day, and all worn gym clothes go into the laundry when I get home.
Sometimes I am absolutely embarrassed about what topics I find on CD. I stay in the politics forum, it's way less scary than out here in the judgemental forums.
Not true. The whole reason for the hook positions is so that as the bra stretches a bit, you can use the next tighter hook. That's why you are supposed to buy a bra that fits with the hooks in the LAST hook position.
Whenever you have to shift that position, it's likely the shoulder straps are stretching out and not providing the lift and support they did when the bra was new. They should actually be bought with the middle position fitting snugly.

Hey everybody. Just so you know, I own 5 bras. I wear one for maybe 5 days before I wash it. I use a laundromat since many apartments here in the great city of Chicago don't have washer and dryers in the unit. I wash it in the washer with all my other clothes.
So , now you know. I hope you can sleep now knowing my business.
I've worn the same pair of jeans for 2 1/2 days. They haven't been puked on, peed on, or juiced- total success! They are going into the hamper tonight since we spent the morning at a farm.
Well, my underwear doesn't look dirty or smell after one day of wear, but that doesn't mean that I don't wash them after every wear.
Oy vey!!!!
