Hospital food? Are you OK? and that doesn't look like the hospital food I had last month when I got my new knee.

It is so cold here, low right now in the single digits: We are having turkey tortilla soup and cheese toast with a combination of cheeses.

BTW last night I did heat up the steak and didn't over cook it: I stuck it in the toaster oven for about 8 minutes after leaving it setting at room temp for a couple of hours. It was still rare. It wasn't steaming hot, but it was warm enough to be really enjoyable.

Elina, hope you're ok. I had hospital food in NJ when I had my spinal fusion, and it was really good ( when I felt like eating) I'm doing food shopping today as soon as the temp goes up and it melts a little. More snow tonight, so I need to stock up. Not sure what we will feel like eating.

In honor of Fat Tuesday, I'm making yeast-raised waffles for dinner. Will have ham steak to go with.

This sounds so good. Heck all your dinners sound so good!

I have steak tips marinating in a bourbon based marinade. I will probably cook them on the cast iron grill pan and serve with carrots and oven fries.

Let's hope they are wrong about tonight's snow. I like a little, but I don't like being shut in. I was supposed to have Physical T yesterday, had to cancel, now I hope I don't have to cancel todays as I am almost finished. Good luck getting out.

DD just stopped by with some perfectly browned chicken thighs, gravy and mashed potatoes left over from her meal last night. All I'll need to do is toss a salad!

I have some pears to use up, so I think I'll put the major effort into a Pear Tart for dessert. Dinner will most likely be chili and biscuits.
