I have this never-ending ham. There's a package of dried lima beans on the shelf. There are carrots languishing in the refrigerator.

I'm going to throw all this in a Dutch oven with some onions, water, seasonings and ham base and make my northern version of a southern dish - ham and lima beans.

Then I'm going to set it out on the deck where it will probably freeze pretty quickly and off it will go into the freezer to make us happy another day.

We will eat one. last. meal of ham tonight with some homemade honey wheat bread.

I was going to have soup cause it is so miserable here today, but it is going to be just as bad tomorrow. I will keep the soup for then.
I would let the steak come to room temperature and then quickly sear it in a pan.

I'm kind of following your lead here.

I just bought these yesterday and going to give them a try tonight. It's just a coincidence that it's Meatless Monday.

Also, crinkle-cut fries. Not organic, but yes crispy. I already know that these are delicious so, if the burger is a dud, then I'll make another "serving" (ahem ) of fries.

While the mid-west and east coast are having unseasonably cold temperatures, it is unseasonably warm here: + 20 through 30s*F.

I think that I'll fire up the grill tonight for barbecued country-style pork chops, steamed asparagus and roasted cumin & curry potatoes.

Penne with sausage and a pumpkin sauce, steamed fresh green beans. It's bitter cold here. Wish I was in warmer pastures.

A blueberry low fat probiotic yogurt, 3 toasted slices of whole grain wheat bread with healthy style margarine & strawberry preserves and a mug of tea with a teaspoon of sugar & a bit of non fat milk.
