Or maybe french fries are bad for you. I'm betting on that. But it's a free country, you can bet that it's just coincidence.
I literally do not know anyone who eats fries twice a week.
I average once a month, or about once every 6 weeks really
In any event, I gave up trying to avoid delicious fatty foods pretty soon. Going of a heart attack at, say, 85 is a great way to go considering most of the alternatives. And as pointed out here - you do have to go. Weight, cholesterol and BP are good so I'm carrying on as normal.
French fries in any considerable amount can have negative health implications, but I would guess that the reason for the correlation is that people who eat fries 2+ times per week are also eating a high calorie, high sodium diet with few plant foods and are statistically less likely to exercise. That is what compromises their health, not the mere presence of french fries.
It does not shock me that fries are linked to higher risk of death.I dont like fries anyways so it doesnt affect me.
