One more day of canning and for the season and I can just relax and look at what our hard work produced, so dinner will be another easy one: We are having scallops wrapped in bacon and hot and spicy shrimp. I will do a small fruit salad and broccoli and cauliflower as our veggie. Depending on how tired I am and how hungry spoiled brat is I may also do ramen noodles on the side.

Carne Asada tacos. I actually made a marinade for the flap meat and let it sit in the refrigerator overnight. We were all surprised that it actually tasted very good after grilling it on the grill outside.

Lady Conkling said she was feeling off-colour today and retired to bed for the afternoon.
Amazingly since I've fired up the barbecue just below our bedroom window and thrown on a few thick juicy pork sausages and a couple of steaks she's made a miraculous recovery.
All the more amazing since today was meant to be her turn to cook.
I'm cool though.
Little does she know I have a couple of old buddies coming round later tonight and we intend to get stinking drunk while playing some poker and watching a grown-up movie or two in my man cave.
There'll be plenty of shoutin' and hollerin' too.
I do hope she got a couple of hours sleep this afternoon.
Remember fellers, in the great fishing competition of marriage you've got to let the mackerel see the sprat if you want to hook 'em in.
