My grandmother used a pair of smooth wooden dowels, about 2 feet long and 2 inches in diameter, to roll out her noodles (she called all pasta "noodles", regardless of what shape she was making). Making noodles was a family affair - one person doing the rolling, another cutting with either a knife or a rolling cutter, another filling, another sealing, etc. etc. on down the assembly line to the finished product. My job, as a little kid, was either to stay out of the kitchen or hang the linguini/spaghetti over the back of a chair.

Our Dollar General had Barilla pasta on the shelves today. I was looking for kitchen drawer organizers, but spotted the pasta.

Finally saw some lentils, barley, and beans on the supermarket shelves. No shortage of pasta selections, but canned soup display was spotty.
Soup is hard to find by me, especially ramen noodles. The shelves have been bare.

Pasta and sauces are finally starting to be in stock.

What state are you in? I just looked on the Walmart app for rice in the store by me, it's showing they do have some bagged rice in stock. The rice that's out of stock are all sizes of minute rice.

We don't use a lot of rice. I normally use it in stuffed peppers. My hub bought a large minute rice right before this started. When we were making the shopping list I told him we didn't need it yet but he still bought it. I keep it in a 2 quart container, I still have a quart and a half.
