I have only been to TJ a few times, since one only recently opened in my area. It's a cute store, but to me does not have much selection - they must vary by area.

Anyway, my favorite items there are the cheeses (especially Kerrygold Dubliner) and Kerrygold butter, crab and langostino rangoons (frozen) vegetable bird nests (frozen) seaweed snacks, almond meal, WINE . I don't tend to by cookies or anything since I am diabetic but I know they have some good ones. Frankly about half the store here is dedicated to wine, and many of the items are the same that ALDI offers, but with different packaging (like the nuts, some box goods and sauces, etc.) TJ also has great deals on olive oils and I buy several when I go - I got a HUGE bottle for about 6 bux last time!

I LOVE those! Too much in fact as I have no will power to resist them. Also LOVE the dark chocolate covered Blueberries. I eat a few when I have a chocolate craving and then walk away.

Oh gosh, I could go on and on here, the chocolate covered powerberries are fantastic,
their Maryland Crab Cakes are the best, Their truffle brownies won Consumer Reports best Brownie Mix in a taste contest (and trust me they are deserving!) There Peach Salsa is divine!
I always pick up eggs there.
Every time I go there, I find another favorite!

Ditto all above. Trying to think of things that travel/ship well.

They have great taco seasoning mix if you're a rip-open-a-packet sort of taco maker.
Big bag of sesame rice crackers.
100% whole fruit organic juices (100% blueberry, 100% tart cherry, not apple juice with a little something else thrown in)
Corn & pepper soup in the vacupak box
Get an extra tub of the 3x ginger snaps.

I am really surprised to say they have the same sellection as Aldi's. I have shopped both for years and have never seen the same anything. Both have a purpose, but nothing near the same merchandise. One is discount and has great deals, the other consentrates on specialty items. I will have to check a little closer. The one thing that might be similar is the produce, but Aldis has a much larger choice.

here is my final list. I love some of the ideas, like the founder but I don't know if I will see him for a couple of days so I settled on non parishable items except one or two things;

1 bottle of Raymond hill red wine
1 bottle of $2 white Chuck
1 bottle of $2 red chuck
1 loaf of wheat sour dough bread
2 jars mustard
1 carten of blue cheese/pecan spread
1 pack of chocolate/Macadanian cookies
1 container of Hollandaise sause

Next time I will send him with an ice chest...
