All of my lily patches are now in bloom, even the lily trees. However, half of them got hit by fungus
Was able to find enough for us to make a centerpiece for my daughter's 3rd birthday party

Crepe myrtles are next!

Oddly enough in spite of the two late snowstorms everything here in south central MN seems to be about two weeks early. But the amount of blooms on many plants has been affected by the May frost.

We battled with a lot of heavy wet snow this past winter. While it was back breaking I can't complain. This is a twenty + year old climbing rose bush, which is performing brilliantly this year. Gotta be twice the blooms as compared to years past. It's not easy finding a plant that will bloom the entire summer and handle a good amount of shade like this plant.

Well, my blueberries are starting to ripen. The birds only leave me a handful, but it's a treat to snack while mowing the yard.

What's blooming? Red 'dynamite' crape myrtle, 'ebony and ivory' crape myrtle (dark foliage / white flowers), more day lilies, and more crinum lilies. Up next - beautyberry ('callicarpa americana'). I think that every plant that blooms is in bloom or finished and I hope I've listed all of them.

Talking is it a magnolia

I am trying to figure out what is growing in my yard this year. It is beautiful and didn't bloom at all last year. I don't even remember it last year. But one day I turned around and all these big tea cup white petals with a distinct color center. They weren't there that morning but poof came out so beautiful. Looking through the pictures of flowers it really resembels a white magnolia but it isn't a tree it is a bush. I am wondering now that the blooms are spent should the bush be beheaded like a daisy bush. Thanks for your help. oh i live in the northern ohio area

My purple butterfly bush is starting to bloom today--it's incredibly beautiful.

That plant is so hardy, I've moved it twice by literally ripping it out (roots and all) of the ground to new locations and it still thrives. Half of the roots are currently above ground and there's hardly any adverse effects.
