My basil got eaten by a rabbit. So I'm trying again in a container. Now that the dogs are out most of the day I don't see the rabbits much though. But I'm still fencing off the beds I'm using for carrot, lettuce, cilantro, parsley and kale.

They like my strawberries, so I put some chicken wire around, but the runners don't care.

July 8, 2023 Update:

Past 7 days:
Rainfall: 1.47" Had a big Thunderstorm with heavy downpour that dropped almost 1" within 30 minutes.
Temps: 2 days of 90s. Rest with 80s but very humid. Nighttime upper 60s

Soil temp finally in upper 70s now. Yes I know, the weeds. Been too hot and humid for me to be out there

1st Cucumber harvest of 2023 were the ones from the pot

The ones in the ground finally starting to grow. They only grow when soil temp is above 70-72°F and in June that was hard to get this year.

Onions thickened up

No ripe tomatoes yet but things are looking full out here now. Look at the lettuce on far left, bolted because of the heat.

Thinking ahead to Winter 2024-25 (yes, that far) I got a load of this dropped off.

Red Oak which is very common around here. Red and White

Made a $10 striping kit and 1st time with defined lawn stripes, and in July to boot. It's a 3" PVC cut to length with dry cement inside and 2 caps on the end with hooks and chains to hook onto back of lawnmower.
