It's really hard to sell furniture on our local Craigslist. I mostly just use it to give things away. It has been GREAT for that, gotten rid of tons of stuff that way, even broken items. People go nuts for free stuff.

Made over $300 in my yard sale.

Still have stuff left... probably will be abandoning it.

Tired.

That's great! After looking in our shed we decided that next weekends community yard sale was excellent timing. We will be pulling all kinds of stuff out for that. In the meantime our neighborhood has a Facebook page and I have four offers on my free piano already. The only reason it's free is while it looks lovely, it's old and is a very cheap brand. Hasn't been tuned in years and when it was last tuned I was told it couldn't hold a tune anymore. I'm being truthful about it and all the keys work so it'll be good for a starter, especially of SOMEONE else hauls it out of the house!

We had some painting to do, and today we did the primer coat. Tomorrow we'll do the color coat.

I also did a curb alert on Craigslist and got rid of a few things. Packed a couple boxes.

I got another IKEA bunk bed today and it took 3 hrs (compared to 2hrs for the other one) to put together.

So I still need to get a few other things for the house but im pretty proud of myself.

Hubby retired Friday! Starting tomorrow I am going to take 12noon-2pm (I work from home) and he and I will start on the house. We will be tossing, putting aside donations, and hopefully only things we are taking will be left in the house by the end of the month. If we're still married after this I guess we'll make it another 20 years.

This is finally real!!

Abandoning?? Hope you are not leaving it in the house for someone else to dispose of... We had that happen to us once and it was awful. They even left a kitchen full of dirty dishes all over the counters. A nasty surprise on the day we had planned to simply clean the place.

No, I mean putting it up on the local freecycle and curbing it. Never had anything not taken when I've done that. Someone always takes free.

Not sure where you live but many times we put things outside with a sign that says "Free" and the stuff ALWAYS disappears.
