I see California license plates in Massachusetts pretty often
Thats because of all the colleges like Harvard, BU, BC have students from California and every other state. Students from all 50 states move to Boston for college. When I went to college in Boston I met a student from every state and over 50 countries.
Years ago, my son and I were on the New Jersey Turnpike and saw plates from more than forty states, Canada, and a foreign country. Not bad for a two hour trip.
I live near an AFB in a tourist area, so I see plates from all over. Alaska is pretty common. I've seen two from Maine recently, which is a bit unusual. Occasionally I will see Vermont or New Hampshire.
Of course, during the Sturgis rally I see motorcycle plates from everywhere. The best time to see them is when they are on their way OUT of town!
I saw motorcycles from Australia on I-90 during the Sturgis rally.
I've seen multiple Alaska plates in Rhode Island in the past year (unless it was the same car spotted multiple times!). I've definitely seen Hawaii plates before, though, so that wins.
