I saw not one, but two Florida plates last week in Spokane, WA. On the same day. It doesn't get much more far away than that up here. Even Alaska is much closer to us than Florida is.
I've seen Alaska plates here in Michigan, so I suppose that would be the farthest away, but I've also seen several California plates and tons of Florida plates.
For some reason, I have been seeing a real influx of New York and New Jersey plates in the past year or so. I'm not sure what that's about.
Speaking only in terms of U.S. plates, I've lived in the Midwest & southeast & seen Alaska & Hawaii plates in both locations with the Alaska ones noticeably more prevalent though still rare.
And here in the Southeast I have also seen U.S. Virgin islands, Puerto Rico & Guam plates.
I can't recall if I ever saw a U.S. Canal Zone plate many years ago.
I've seen all 50 states in Chicago, although I would probaby say Hawaii is the least seen. I saw multiple Alaska plates this summer, which somewhat surprised me. Most common are the neighboring states, with the further away states I see a lot being California, Texas, Florida and New York. Also a ton of Penn for some reason.
I've seen quite a few Wisconnie plates here in East-Central Minnesota which kind of surprises me considering what presumably must be some kind of test carried out in the presence of a regulated official of some sort...
