Hmm...but you were being defensive about a POSITIVE statement I made about me enjoying and liking Houston. You(annoyingly so) took issue with me saying I didnt like how christian it is...which it is.
Houston isn't a overly religious city at all. Ft. Bend might be but I've never been invited to church in my 2 years there. New Orleans is probably more religious than Houston will ever be. Not to mention Houston is extremely diverse and New Orleans is largely Catholic.
Galveston, Conroe, and Baytown aren't conventional suburbs.
Point is, they aren't inner loop neighborhoods. The OP claimed that the inner loop had tons of christian fanatics and when asked where he actually lived he named everywhere BUT the inner loop.

Ahhh. I've never lived in the loop (about 100ft away at one point) but I still know that it isn't highly religious.
The only part that would be is the SE side I'm guessing. Lower income minorities.

Actually the OP claimed that one of the few things he didnt like about Houston is the concentration of christianity there. I'm pretty sure he meant the entire metro area, but if you'd like to continue with this trivial banter....ok

Annie, i know you and Nairobi are friends and all, but you know very well that New Orleans is not a conventionally religious city. I've even seen you say as much in other threads. The Southern Baptist and Non Denominational reach of christianity in the Houston Metro Area is far more concentrated than in the New Orleans metro area...
from Joel Osteen & Ed Young on down the evangelical totem pole, Houston does church in a big way...
I hate that we've gone on this tangent this long...especially stemming from a comment where I expressed my LIKE for Houston overall.

from Joel Osteen on down the evangelical totem pole, Houston is easily one of the megachurch capitols of America.

Like many CD posters, I don't have many friends. Catholicism of New Orleans is part of every day life, part of the culture, part of the reason why people like to visit is for many of the activities (Mardi Gras) that Catholicism has given us.
Just because Houston has megachurches and that Joel Olsteen doesn't mean that Houston is some type of oppressive religious city and New Orleans is not steeped in Catholic and a little Jewish history.
How does Houston have more votes than Dallas? If I had to pick a soulless major city in Texas it would probably be Dallas.
Houston has more haters. In reality, Houston is pretty far from soulless. It's crazy diverse, plenty of culture and lack of zoning give it an interesting look and character as opposed to the bland, sterile look of Dallas.
