People wanting to be white is out. Now, it's all about multi-racial. When I complain about pasty legs my mother tries to assure me that being pale used to be cool and it will come back in style just like anything else*....crickets...* I'm still waiting. Best get another tanning bed package or some tinted lotion.

You could always try Japan. There's no such thing as too pale over there.

If it is all about being multi-racial than why do only a mere 2% of Americans identify themselves as multi-racial. If wanting to be White is out than why do a whopping 73% of Americans identify themselves as White.
I dont necessarily think you are looking at this in the right view Tropolis. Try thinking this way. It is human nature to be curious and drawn to things that are different than oneself. That's why we have different NFL teams, different NBA leagues, etc.... everyone likes something else. People are curious about things that they are not, and things they don't have. That's why it's common to see "white" people who want to be "black" or "black people that want to be "white" etc, etc, etc. It's just the curiosity of human nature most of the time. Have you ever wondered what it would be like to win the lottery, or to be a big celebrity, or anything like that? sure you have, we all have. It's the same type of feeling some people get to explore other ways of how to be.
Mb64282, don't worry about what's out or in. Just be you. You can never be faulted for being who you are. Being white is fine, being black is fine. being brown, yellow, red or whatever you are is fine. We are all still part of the same race, the human race. There is no need to believe otherwise.
Where did you find a poll in America where 73% of the people are white? Is that true? I don't feel like that's accurate. I think if people identify themselves as white, they probably are, that's why. I'm just saying the 'in' thing is more of a mixed ethnic look.

Thanks mb64282! It's important that some people have a hard time understanding the truth. The truth that being what you are is just fine. I have much more respect for someone that is who they are, regardless of race, as to trying to put on a faccad.
