Alcohol is far more destructive than tobacco.

Marijuana is native to all continents except Antarctica.

The reason I am so extreme is because I have seen first hand what this destructive habit can do to someone and how it can entrap them and make them a prisoner. And how it slowly sucks the life and money out of you.

If you care to see what I am talking about read this excellent short story:

I smoked cigarettes for nearly 14 years so I do know how addictive it is. I also decided I didn't want to smoke anymore and I quit cold turkey years ago. Not exactly easy-but if one truly wants to stop one can. I don't buy into the powerlessness victim theory (but that's for another thread...)

The only problem I have with the notion of outlawing cigarettes is that "it's for your own good" philosophy. Our government shouldn't have to get involved with that. Smoking isn't a healthful practice, and everybody knows why. That should be the end of it. You want to smoke, go ahead and smoke until your lungs turn all black and crumbly. But you shouldn't expect any kind of help from anyone when your health gives out, because the decision will have been a conscious one on your part.

Oh H*** no! One, it should be up to adult individuals to make their own decisions.

Two, if my lungs are good and general health are ok at 70 - I'm going to start again! And I'm not the only one.
