I’m more interested in a building underground vs a Skyhouse Greensboro, honestly.

Greensboro shows it how its done. Mayors from all over the state including Charlotte, Wilmington, and Asheville toured the city Thursday afternoon. The mayor of Charlotte was excited about our electric city buses and jopes Charlotte will put in a fleet of electric buses.

Also Food Network ranks Smith Street Diner in downtown Greensboro as the best diner in the state.

I've been to Smith Street Diner for breakfast a few times. It is good and deserves the recognition.

Greensboro showing how it’s done, very proud of this city and the triad in general.

Not long ago downtown Greensboro was just borded up shops and empty suburban parking lots.

Also smith street diner deserve that, and best diner on market street across the from that Indian restaurant.

But if I had to guess where skyhouse would go, it would be built on the corner of Bellemeade and Edgeworth Streets right across the street from the ballpark box office. The reason would have to be because that site is adjacent to the city deck going up and Skyhouse towers are usually built next to city parking decks so the towers will have parking. The city deck would be shared by Skyhouse, 400 Bellemeade (Project Slugger) and Carroll South of the Ballpark. There would be a lot of tall buildings around the ballpark.....9 story Project Slugger, 9 story Aloft, 20 story office tower and a 20 to 23 story Skyhouse.

We just might see this built next to Carroll South of the Ballpark

Greensboro's crown cultural jewel. Steven Tanger Center at sunrise.....Jay Leno coming to town.

In contrast to Downtown Greensboro's other large performing arts venue...the Historic Carolina Theatre on Greene Street. seats 1,075 which is a third of the seating capacity of the Tanger Center. However the Carolina Theatre originally seated 2,200. Hands down the most beautiful historic theater in the state. It opened in 1927 and was the first public air conditioned building in the state. In less than 10 years it will be a century old. In the late 1970s it almost became a porno palace and was even almost torn down. Downtown has three other smaller performing arts venues, Triad Stage, Van Dyke Performance venue and community theater of Greensboro.

Hampton Inn and Suites

Hotel deck.

Construction has officially started on the 8 story city parking deck which will be surrounded by Carroll South of the Ballpark and serve as parking for Project Slugger and ballpark spectators. You can see foundation work being done.
