If it was true, I would expect a major announcement since HT is not yet in our area. Good store though.

Kroger and/or Harris Teeter coming to Greenville and upstate South Carolina would be a major announcement indeed. Expansion into the market would necessitate several stores. Like Harris Teeter was acquired, Kroger can acquire a regional chain that has significant market share and numerous locations. Kroger can grow organically by opening new stores under Kroger's Atlanta Division or Harris Teeter, or it can acquire an existing chain.

Seems to be a well known secret that has been discussed in several other threads and forums, although that isn't especially definitive in and of itself. I suggest you ponder this recent real estate listing for a strip mall property "Lcoated [sic] near the new Fresh Market Grocery store." 1635 Woodruff Road, Greenville, SC, 29607 - Strip Center Property for Lease on LoopNet.com

Default The Fresh Market on Woodruff Road

The Fresh Market coming to Woodruff Road has been discussed in "Fresh Market 2 in Greenville." The description in The Woodruff Center's listing say within distance from the new Fresh Market.

The Fresh Market has not officially announced a second store in Greenville yet. Any announcement would be on its "Press Releases" page.

That same location has been rumored to be a future Publix for years. But I would love to see Harris Teeter return to the Upstate.

Funny thing was there were two Walmart employees in the Simpsonville Christmas Parade walking with a banner with the opening date on it. They may do a soft opening prior to that date.
