There's also plan for another amusement park in Texas City. Same issue with PT. Amusement park in the works for Texas City | Prime Property | a Chron.com blog. I live in both Houston and Vegas and would rather see a casino built downtown or Galveston. I am tired of flying back and forth to Vegas and driving to Lake Charles.
The first time we went to Vegas we drove. The Car was more a burden than anything (Forgetting where we left it and such) There wasn't much reason to leave the strip so it wasn't really needed. Having all out fun and having to drive in between is a drag. We flew in the second time was felt so much more relaxed

Are kids today interested in one of the retro style amusement parks? I doubt it. Maybe some racing rides and roller coasters, but the Ipad generation wont go for Tilt-a-whirl type stuff. This may be only good for little kids who will lose interest at 8.

I agree. Kids today want higher, faster, wetter.

A day at the park for teenagers/ preteens are fun with theirs peers. Not holding little Tommy's hand or being supervised by mom and dad.

This will always be handicapped without some bus or something regularly dumping kids in.

SeaWorld has two express buses
I think Fiesta Texas has the 94 and 97 buses, maybe more.

But both parks are still in San Antonio's urban area.

Six Flags in DFW is sorta odd because there really isn't city buses that go there but it is surrounded by hotels.

They should build something like this in the upper East End near downtown or at the old Astroworld site.

It would be a lot more practical for Houston to get a theme park than a casino district.

Especially considering that they haven't legalized gambling in Texas.

But I would like both.
