I'd like to add VOLUNTEERING to this list. There are many opportunities to volunteer, whether it be formal or informal, and there is a volunteer position for every interest. My resume and work skills have been strongly enhanced by volunteer work, and this can be very helpful to younger job seekers, especially for those too young to work legally. There is also the Civilian Air Patrol, and for those in and around Shelley, the Virginia Theater provides opportunities to participate in acting.

Lightbulb Merle Haggard

If you like his music, Merle Haggard is at the Civic Auditorium tonight.

Cool Civic Auditorium Tickets

I believe tickets for the Civic Auditorium for events are suppose to become available at the Post Register. (www.posterregister.com). Meanwhile, for tickets to upcoming events like David Archuleta on 3/20/09 and Vicki Lawrence on 04/10/09, the same general link applies: Idaho Falls Civic Auditorium Tickets (http://www.authoritytickets.com/venues/usa/idaho/idahofalls/idahofallscivicauditorium/idahofallscivicauditoriumidahofallstickets.php - broken link)

If the page comes up with many shows and venues, one can either look with "Idaho Falls Civic Auditorium" to display upcoming tickets. The general link, when clicking on state and "Idaho" allows one to see all venues where tickets can be accessed via this site.

I hope you find a concern/show you want to see. Have fun.

MSR

Romeo and Juliet opens at the Virginia Theater in Shelley next weekend. I think you get a discount off of dinner next door at Lazy D's when you present your theater program.

Good to know, NCM1! It is amazing what the various Shelley students have done with the Virginia theater. Maybe someday it can be a part of Dawn Wells' Spudfest. It is so different compared to MegaPlexes or the Theaters in Ammon etc. It's "old school." Fortunately, some people cared enough to literally pick up all the broken pieces a few years back and make it into what it is today.

P.S. I couldn't rep you NCM1 as me, so gave you one as a guest. Go figure. Hope you received it.

Thank you MSR, it is amazing what goes on at the theater. We are lucky to have a big "in" so we get to see behind the scenes, and it truly is a labor of love as well as a venue for folks in the community to get involved in something incredible and positive. My son will be in this production, and I am very thankful to have such a wonderful outlet for kids, big and small! Every production we've seen at the theater has been magical.
