I say that if we are to deport the illegal immigrants, a $100 tax be assessed on every American's paycheck ($100 per month). This could cover the cost of deporting the illegals, and if there's anything left over, it could be used to to pay down the debt and lend support to the industries that would be squashed by such a move.

A CBS News poll found 33% of Americans favored deportation, while 62% preferred offering legal status. In a Gallup poll, 13% favored deportation and 78% favored offering citizenship. Place such a hypothetical tax on folks who make above $30K a year------it is those of us who have low incomes that are suffering the most from the illegals' presence.
