My son had a sinus infection when he visited me earlier in the month and we went to the one closest to us. You register as soon as you arrive and they take you in order. Not sure about the cost for the visit though.
I know about the clinics, and if I am not better by tomorrow, I think I will call and find out. I am trying to sleep as much as possible, taking tylenol and using the menthol patches.

Expect to feel worse the second day. That should be the end of the max swelling. That would have been Saturday.

Ibuprofen is good for pain relief as well as inflammation. It can be safely taken at 100 mg an hour. I.e. you can take 400 mg every 4 hours, 600 mg every 6 hrs. Can be bought as Ibuprofen or Motrin at pharmacy in 200 mg tabs. Be sure to take it with food. It can cause upset stomach.

It is usually recommended to take around the clock for 3-5 days. If you get relief don't stop. That means it's working and bringing down the inflammation as well as relieving the pain.

If the swelling goes down to your feet, or bruising extends, or you lose feeling or movement in your ankle or toes or your bones looks deformed it's time to get a Doc to take a look.

Keep in mind, it's possible to break a bone without actually falling if you has a bit of osteoporosis

Tazz- Ex ER RN.

Lecture over.
Everything sounds good except for the compression. I did try the ice, it did nothing. It hurts like heck to barely bump my leg, let alone sit normally. I tried elevating it, it hurts worse trying to lift it up to prop it up. So i gave up.
The only one with osteoporosis in my family is my Mother.
I will send out my husband to buy the supplies. Last time he came back with one wrong thing. The cream instead of the menthol patches. They seem to help a little. Thanks for the help. I guess it's not too late to try something else. But worried about compressing it. That hurts way too much. I am in day 5 and feel a little better. But i cannot walk very well.

If the government starts spying on me, they will be really bored and desperate. I suggest everyone start flashing the fake bugs and birds and that should blind a few government agents.

Walmart now has those clinics too. I took my daughter to one last week. You see an actual doctor, unlike the CVS Clinic, where you see a nurse practitioner. The charge was $65.00 with no insurance.
