At least from the builds I saw on Redfin, they pretty much always include the charger. I guess if you are going to have to do the wiring you may as well spend the extra $500 on the charger.

That's interesting since the charger can be dependent on the car brand. Would you please point out an example or two? I couldn't find any new builds in Northampton on realtor.com.

I don’t see mention of a car charger in either one of those.

The TH explicitly says "EV Charging Station" in the about text.

Well I guess I got ripped off. An electrician charged me $1800 to run a car charger from the basement to the garage along with a few other small tasks. Others quoted me $2500 so it could have been worse. It was a fairly long wire.

You would think it would be cheaper to do the wiring on a new build. Still not going to be that cheap.

Electrical work in finished spaces is always more expensive than electrical work in unfinished new construction. Fishing wire inside closed walls and ceilings is much more labor intensive and difficult than stapling wires to open wall studs and ceiling joists.

There's a shooting/hostage situation in Pittsburgh due to an eviction situation:

Maybe there will be more of these to come with the housing/rent/migrant crisis situation. I actually hope there are. Maybe it will get people to wake up.

I hope the homeowner checked to make sure the contractor had appropriate insurance before the job began! Someone's going to be facing some serious litigation! https://www.wcvb.com/article/wall-co...-road/44888390
