Well for kicks and giggles I went by this house (I was going to be in Lexington) and all the houses there are pretty close to each other. The lot is only 1/4 acre and the house looks to go back pretty far on the lot and the distance between it and the house on the left is at least 25'. The street is just wide enough for 2 cars to pass each other and it's an older, established neighborhood with some redevelopment.

The picture is very deceiving then because it looks like it's a lot closer than 25 ft.

This board: MA is too expensive!
Also this board: Look at this house that's only 3 feet away!

Would you be happy about spending ~$3M to live 3 feet away from your neighbor? For $3M I'd expect to get a park like lot and decent buffer from neighbors.

It depends on the neighborhood. On the Upper East Side you can easily spend 10 times that and be wall to wall with your neighbor. In the deep country you can spend $300k and not be able to see your neighbor.

And, to answer your question, no I wouldn’t want to spend $3m and be up against my neighbor. Obviosuly some people don’t mind, because those houses sell.

Sold for 385k in 2019 now listed at 839k in 2023. Looks like some work was done to it, but wow. That is quite an increase for a small home in 4 years time. So so glad I am not in need of home in this area.

kind of surprised this one had a price drop. Maybe seller just really wants to sell, but that's a good sized home with a lot of privacy. Maybe the pond in the back is a concern...I'd love it.

The house looks really nice, but those power lines...

I wonder how much more they'll have to drop the price before someone will bite.

This house would probably be 1.2M to 1.5M if located in a different part of Duxbury.

I'm thinking with those power lines maybe 700k.
