Sadly I admit...i watch those videos. Not sure why.
Once in a while I watch those videos as well. It becomes mildly addictive. A completely different genre of YouTube videos that is even more addictive to watch are the 'cat at the vet' videos.

Does anyone use the "Best Pick Reports" that come in the mail every year? Are the contractors any good?

I read through it, but honestly I get the feeling it's less about the "best pick" and more about who paid to be the best pick. I've never called one. I go by word of mouth with peers or on the town FB page as to who does good work.

This is the nicest part of Duxbury. I wouldn't be surprised if this was purchased for the lot alone. Still, I haven't seen houses at this price point go for overask in other south shore towns.

Makes you wonder were there really that many other bidders vying for these multimillion dollar properties? Or just someone with loads of cash who was like whatever it takes , I'm just going to offer up something impressive to ensure I get this property....I don't even know if anyone else is bidding but I want it.

This definitely happens. No idea how often, but for sure if someone absolutely had their heart set on a property like that I could see them easily bumping their offer just to make sure they get it. At that price range, the extra $200k is probably unimportant to them in the grand scheme of things.

Yeah good point, hard to imagine there were multiple bidders at that price point.

You have a lot more space in Duxbury than in hingham. Not everyone wants to pay millions to live on top of someone else

What does Hingham have to do with this?
