Miami Beach is too corrupt and overpopulated to be saved. Let's start over somewhere else. Leave the beach to the flotsam and wait for it to rot.

Most business do close their doors during this weekend due to the violence including numerous shoplifting. I would NEVER go anywhere near this event.

Why, so you can have the ever growing thug class come and ruin that place?

People build and make a place nice and fun, and the thug class comes in to enjoy the fruits of others' labor and destroy it as they have done with their own areas.

And they are do something about it. I think the traffic loop thing will have an effect that will be more noticeable next year because it will deter people from coming back.

All residential streets will be closed to non-residents meaning that if they don't park their car, they won't have the opportunity to turn around and look for parking again. They will be looped right back onto the causeway leaving the beach. And have to wait in all that traffic again to get back to Sobe. It's going to be miserable.
The Wieners Circle's even worse, that show is just pathetic.

Most people on Earth have not shot anyone, so what are the chances the female in the picture did?

I would not call MB ghetto, but it can improve a lot. As much as I hate Urban Beach Week, it is hardly a core problem of MB.

People need places like MB, make MB something else and what MB is now will just shift to another location. Just make MB a bend but not break environment to not let it get out of control, and it will be just fine.

If people want to address Urban Beach week and other perceived problems with MB, many problems in MB are brought on by people who do not live in MB, so perhaps a person should address the root of the problem, which is "why people feel they need to act this way."

Miami Beach seems like a nice controlled area. At times it may get chaotic during those event(Urban Beach Weekend) but for the most part it looks like a safe area, although I read a story of an NYPD officer on vacation getting murdered in his hotel room last year.

Sooo, i'm just checking the net not knowing anything about Memorial Day Weekend in Miami... Yes, I'm European!

But 'cause I'm living in the Caribbean I planned a shopping trip to Miami from May 28 to May 31. Reading all this crap going on in the weekend before, you guys kinda scared me! I just want to walk around, relax and do a lot of shopping! Now I'm having nightmares of what to come
What will I see and experience on Monday let's say afternoon, and the following days?

It is not a natural disaster. Miami Beach will be back to its normal self by Tuesday. Monday I am not really sure. Friday-Sunday is when it is insane. No locals go near the place.

It is bad 3-4 days a year. I have a feeling that will be taken care of this year.
