Rented OnDemand “The 24th” directed by Kevin Wilmott—who wrote Black KKlansman—a much better movie
Not sure if Wilmott wrote this or not
Based on historical “mutiny” of Black soldiers stationed at Camp Logan in Houston TX in 1917–they were there to provide security for the camp under construction and act as MPs for the soldiers in Houston...Camp Logan is where Memorial Park now is
Some good acting but script was heavy-handed and colored outside the lines very much in some aspects of the historical event
This mutiny doesn’t bear much in common with the one Fletcher Christian and Captain Bligh are famous as enemies
This was supposed to be premiered at SXSW but that was cancelled due to CoVid
We were not that impressed
“White Boy Rick”
I hadn’t been interested in the life of a drug dealer/informant, but being a Michigander I gave in (I love to watch anything filmed here especially Detroit), it was a very good film!
Thought it was a horror (hence could classify for Clubs and Swords Monday) but it's not, a modern day thriller. That said, entrancing enough, held my attention through out. Say a 6.8 for once watched, it's done.
I suppose since it held my attention through out there was something to this flick.....but with the lead trying to talk tough, it made most of the dialogue gibberish. Say a 4.0.
Goodfellas - major disappointment. I had heard such wonderful things about it and while the acting was outstanding, there was no real plot and I didn't care for any of the characters.
“Without a Trace” Kate Nelligan, Judd Hirsh, Stockard Channing and David Dukes
Nelligan is a really good actress—
May look up “Eye of the Needle” she was in
Without A Trace made in 1983—gosh you see something and you think “what great costuming or set decoration” then you think
No—just the essence of the time it was filmed...
And in what child abduction movie today would the term “chicken porn” need an explanation
I've never heard the term "chicken porn" and I'm even afraid to look it up on my computer or phone.
