I signed those docs on July 5th , and was told 5 - 10 business days in would get a answer. I was not shown a unit prior to signing the papers.
We signed those documents that suppose to go to HDC in the last week of June they told us in 5 days we will hear back from them. We still have no response we contacted HDC they told us they can not give us any information we should wait to hear from BG. I just want to know if there is anyone in this forum that got further with the process and signed the lease how long does it take ??????
Breaking Ground has been toying with my emotions. This isn't my first affordable lottery, I'm very good at stating everything up front and coming prepared.
When I was called for an interview I explained my situation; applied as single, married recently, spouse is an immigrant, working toward naturalization. Was given the green light. At the interview I was told because I'm adding someone to the application, I couldn't proceed. I was annoyed but left. Our interviewer had a change of heart and called us back in after confirming it's not a problem after all. If that elevator came on time I would have never made it past the interview stage.
Now, they're gathering documents and want to see my spouse's ITIN, which obviously doesn't exist because as I told BG many times prior, we're in the naturalization process and don't have those official documents yet. Now I'm told my application will likely be discarded because my spouse doesn't have an ITIN.
I can't believe this, total cluster****.
Just apply for an ITIN. Until he has officially qualified for a Social Security Numbrr, he should have an ITIN
My spouse is unemployed, and we haven't filed jointly yet, so we don't have a tax return to furnish with the W-7 application form. Just keeping my fingers crossed that by some minor miracle they won't need to see the ITIN after all.
Turned in paper work but have never viewed the building. This was my #1 although I consider the rent at my upper limit it has everything I wanted (WD, location). Unfortunately, I was told that only band 5 1 bedrooms are available (can't do for that price with my child). There are no band 4 2-bedrooms. I asked to be waitlisted for 2-bedrooms.

I got in touch with the leasing specialist. He said our file is still with compliance and that we should hear by the end of this week or next. Then, next steps are to come in to sign the papers for HDC. Based on your post, I am going to assume we won't hear from HDC until about mid-September at the earliest. Ok, just rolling with it. Hard to though when you need to figure out moving, school, lease breaking all of that.
My appeal just vanished into the abyss. Never heard back or got a formal denial. I hope BG [edited out]
