maybe it's because I'm new to the lottery, but I have no idea what CB8 and CB9 mean lol. Yup!
Lol, I agree 100% about hating the waiting game. I tried to call and be proactive and was told they couldn't tell me anything over the phone. I know absolutely nothing!
You guys have been sooo helpful!
CB means community board. All of us live in certain community boards, by borough. These lotteries give preference to people who already live in the neighborhood. For this lottery, current residents of Brooklyn community boards 8 and 9 are in a preference group (I'm assuming this, based on what you wrote).
That's actually very important, because these folks get priority, right after the people in the mobility disabled and vision and hearing disability. In addition, 50% of the affordable units are reserved for people within these community boards. The link to find out your community board is posted on the previous page of this thread.
I am new to the forum but I have read the past couple of pages. I just had my interview yesterday, submitted everything, really nice people. For everyone waiting to hear back, I was told that the longer you wait after the interview, the better it is for you. My interviewer stated that rejection letters go out pretty quickly so, no news is good news. He also stated that it takes a long time for a good response, up to 10 months!! So hopefully, we are going to be waiting to receive good news! I wish everyone the best.
Hey Nori! Welcome to the waiting room. Do you mind telling us your log# (You can abbreviate the last digits if you want to retain a bit of anonymity, e.g. #1,XXX) and if you have any community board, disability, or municipal employee preferences?
